Here is a template that is attached with an easily removable sticker. The paint does not spread under the stencil because the sticker holds the pattern in place. Cooler than decorating with a loose stencil. The sticker can also be lightly wiped and reused. If you want a slightly coarser pattern, use a standard repair putty or glass bead gel for the stencil. Press the mass with a repair trowel or palette knife. Carefully lift off the stencil and let the pattern dry. Rinse with water and use again as long as the adhesive surface adheres properly.
