The material of the stencil is plastic and is washable and therefore reusable.

Paint with the stencil over the properly dried surface.

When painting with a stencil:

1. Secure the stencil in place with masking tape or e.g. spray adhesive (3M glue has been good) to prevent it from moving. (The spray adhesive may leave marks on the paint surface...)
2. Apply the paint with an almost dry tool through the stencil, avoiding the paint to run under the edges.
3. Remove the stencil and let the paint dry.
4. Apply wax or varnish to areas exposed to wear.
5. You can practice on cardboard first.

The tools I found to be the best:

1. Sticky foam roller
2. Craft brush (wide blade)
3. Styrofoam or a 'stuffer' from a craft store
   
4. Palette knife

For stencil painting, you can use, for example, waxes, glitter paints, chalk paints, acrylic paints, craft paints, etc.

If you want a rougher mark and relief, use renovation quick polish, glitter paste, glass pearl paint or mix e.g. Salt Wash powder with the paint, etc. Unleash your creativity 🤩
